Our story is a story of freedom, hence the name of our boat, Liberty.  When Charles and I were dating he would tell me stories about going to Alaska to fish with his uncle.  Charles loved it!  He wanted to become a commercial fisherman.  Life happened and we became entrenched in a land locked state.  Charles became a civil engineer.  We had three beautiful children.  We had built our 3400 square foot home.  We were very successful.  God blessed us, but in the back of our minds we dreamed of adventure in Alaska.  Years earlier in our marriage, we packed up everything we owned and headed off for Alaska.  It seemed at the time the door for fishing was closed but the construction door was wide open.  We did well in Alaska.  I loved the freedom I sensed.  I loved working at Humpback Creek as a camp cook, while Charles helped put in a hydro electric dam outside Cordova, Alaska.  I fell in love with hearing the cries of eagles.

Later while living in town, Charles was seriously hurt in a construction accident.  So we had to leave Alaska to recoup.  Thirty years later we found ourselves driving back to Alaska with a lot of our stuff.  We were each driving twenty-four foot trailers.  A lot like modern day covered wagons going across country.  We had sold our home to buy a boat and permit.  Some people thought we were crazy.  Living the dream is extremely difficult but well worth it!

Today we present you with the product that represents our story of freedom, Liberty’s Alaskan Seafood!  May this Copper River salmon bless your family as it has ours from our boat to your table.
